Think and Grow Rich | Napoleon Hill’s Stern Warning to ambitious people
In the book Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill dished out a stern warning to ambitious people of the world…..

He said:
“The successful leader must plan his work and work his plan. A leader who moves by guesswork, without practical and definite plans, is comparable to a ship without a rudder. Sooner or later he will hit the rocks.”
-Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich
Here is what Napoleon Hill effectively communicated:
Someone without a plan is like a ship without a rudder. Sooner or later they will crash.
And then Hill goes on to say:
“Every well built house started in the form of a definite purpose plus a definite plan in the nature of a set of blueprints.”
-Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich
Imagine trying to build a giant skyscraper without a plan or a blueprint…
- Would you live in such a building?
- Would you even walk into that building?
I am assuming not.
So the question is…. If you wouldn’t even walk into a building built without a plan… how can you live a life without a clearly defined plan?
That sounds pretty irresponsible… doesn’t it?
And it’s not have enough to have some vague plans in your head…. that’s not planning.
Here is what Napoleon Hill said:
“Reduce your plan to writing. The moment you complete this, you will have definitely given concrete form to the intangible desire.”
You must not only have a plan…you must reduce it down to writing.
Imagine trying to build a giant skyscraper without any written plan or blueprint. What if it was only in the mind of the builder/architect… but never written down? The building would NEVER go up.
If you want to truly succeed in life, you need a written plan.
If you want to truly succeed this month and this year, you need a written plan for this month and this year.
